国际学术报告：受邀出席在South Africa、 Mozambique、Zambia、 Lesotho、Sweden、Italy、Singapore、Hongkong、Great Britain、北京等国家或地区举办的国际学术会议（IGU、EIRASS-Conference San Diego、IGU-conference Tel Aviv、5th International Conference of the Research Network Private Urban Governance & Gated Communities in Santiago de Chile、EU-China Regional Policy International Seminar Peking、IGU Pre-Conference Glasgow、Conference Urban Futures 2000 in Johannesburg）作了逾100场大会学术报告，尤其是于2006年被中国国家发展和改革委员会邀请来京参加“中欧区域政策北京研讨会”，并做主旨发言。
发表论著情况：在高级别期刊，如Cities、International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research、Environment & Planning B、Urban geography、Urban Forum、Erdkunde、Habitat International、Geographische Rundschau、Quaestiones Geographicae、Praxis Geographie、Sardegna Economica、Geographische Rundschau、Die Erde等发表了100多篇学术论文；主持撰写了德国《城市地理》教材，参与编著了Current topics in urban geography、The social side of grocery retailing、Christmas market as a tool for city marketing、Development and perspectives in neighbourhood shopping等30余本学术前沿著作。
在德国多家大学讲授Urban Geography, Africa, Population Geography, Economic Geography,Population in developing countries, Cultural- and social geography, retailing, gender,revitalization of cities, tourism, rural studies, city marketing, mega cities等课程。
